Lier, a small and charming historical town, has all you need for a wonderful day out. 15 km from Antwerp, it is easy to reach by train or bus. In addition to visiting the famous Zimmer Tower and St Gummarus’ Church, in Lier you can also stroll round one of the prettiest beguinages in the world (Unesco World Heritage Site). You can take a boat trip on the Nete, visit the house museum of Oscar Van Rompay or just go shopping and then take a break on one of the numerous terraces.
