Villa Helena

The icing on the cake! This spacious middle-class house, which is 3.5 m x 2.5 m and was made especially for the museum, took four months to build. It provides fantastic accommodation for its extensive family of porcelain residents, who are getting ready for a marriage celebration. The house contains all the style features of a 19th century middle-class house and has been furnished with original miniature and toy furniture from the Napoleon III period. Even the wallpaper is authentic and the curtains were made by hand from 19th century silk and lace. Off the central stairwell are a dining room, a kitchen, a veranda, a balcony, a lounge, a study and a number of bedrooms. The hundreds of details – including the little mice on the kitchen floor – amaze all our visitors…
